The Lakes in Feb:

The Lakes in Feb:
We followed our now February tradition of staying with Cathy for a few days during half term. We were there for four nights, so the children each had a turn at laying and lighting the fire, which they enjoy getting involved in.

As I get older I can see why people wax lyrically about having a coal fire in the lounge. On it's own it doesn't keep the house very warm though!
We had a great time though.

We revisited the "Herdy" shop in Grasmere where much pocket money was spent. Also the Sticky Toffee Pudding shop in Cartmel which we hadn't visited before.

A walk around Tarn Howes was very pleasant in the snow and ice. Much of the Tarn was still frozen.
We also managed to locate a Geocache that was hidden near the tarnside path.

February 29th

February 29th
It must be an Olympic year. Or that is how I remember when a Leap Year occurs anyway.
It has been a busy few weeks since Christmas. Sadly Aunt Mavis passed away on The last day of 2011, so much of January was spent helping where I could with sorting out her flat. Malcolm and John did most of the work, but I helped where I could and took mum up to help with the flat. Cathy and Mark and Sue met us there to help as well, which made it quite a family occasion in a nicer way than I would have expected.
